Happy Mother's Day! OK I know I am a couple of days late. I hope you all had a great Mother's Day!
It's Spring. Life just seems to get more and more crazy as the temperatures rise. I am constantly hearing people complain about their lifes and how out of control they are.
I know we are Super Moms, but do we know when to say enough is enough or just plain no, thank you once in awhile. For example here is my schedule for this week, keep in mind this is a very typical week for my household.
Monday - virtual school, 4H in the evening plus our family is in charge of supplying the food for 75 people and the boys each have to give their demonstrations.
Tuesday - school field trip - only a 3 hour drive each way - but the trip will be worth it - going to see the Titanic exhibit - then that evening if we get back in time my niece is in a school play. Then after that I have a meeting for work until about midnight. Don't forget my article is due for Make Me A Hot Mama.
Wednesday - virtual school (1 son has a final exam) - meeting with new local school district to see what they offer - I also teach Wednesay night Sunday school and they are planning a big VBS party. I still need to finish getting the game activity pieces painted. - load trailer to take things to the garage sale early Thursday morning.
Thursday - virtual school - having a garage sale at a friend's house runs through Saturday - 1 son has speech at 1p which is a one hour drive each way every week
Friday - virtual school - garage sale
Saturday - garage sale - boys have to work an event for our town's festival from 6a-12n, then help run a food stand - followed up by volunteering with their 4H to help work the Fireman's steak feed.
Sunday - Sunday School sings at church, in a parade at 2p, oldest son has Junior Leaders that evening
I am not even sure when to breathe sometimes. I can't imagine my life being boring or quiet. I have three boys. I love being a Mom! We love being able to virtual school. They now are in as many activities as they want because they no longer have homework so their evenings have freed up their time for things they want to do.
We just moved (within the last month) and still have boxes all over. I can't tell you how much I am missing. How is it that when you move the Moving Monster devours certain things? Life seems slightly unorganized in my house but we seem to pull together as a family.
Also I work part-time from home via my computer. I try to put as many hours in as I can. My boss counts on me for things and expects progress in the projects. I stay on call 24/7. Did I mention I also run my own biz too? Plus I also signed a contract to work part-time from home for another local company as an outside travel agent. I am fulfilling one of my dreams. (I actually went to travel school many years ago and wanted to get back into it.) So now I have to manage that job into my daily schedule too.
I hear people all the time complain that they are so busy and they can't do this or can't do that. Well a word of advice - stop feeling sorry for yourself. Take a look at your priorities. What do you need to change to make your self happy again? No one wants to listen to a friend that complains all the time. It gets old really fast.
You are only here on this planet for a short time. Make the best of it. You have the right to say No or Yes if you so desire. Smile and try to destress yourself. People ask me how do you do it? Why are you always so positive towards others? To me I can't imagine any other way I want to be toward others. I have a saying, "Smile, it makes people wonder what you are up to." I love to ask sales clerks at the gas station or a department store," How are you today?". It is nice to see them smile as if someone actually cares how their day is. In return it makes you feel good that you just made someone else smile. Give it a try.
Some of you know that I was a real Mt. Dew addict. Two weeks ago I gave it up! I have been feeling so alive again. It was a little change that helped boost my attitude on life. Now I am not saying I will never drink one again, but I now know I could accomplish this challenge if I wanted too. It is a feeling of empowerment. It is so great to be a Woman!
Happy Mother's Day to all the Hot Mamas out there! Go ahead make a difference in your own life. Strut your stuff. You are one Hot Mama! Remember you are in control of your own life. Take your life back!!!
