The muffin top – tasty with coffee, not so appetizing hanging over your jeans. Just in case you don’t know what a muffin top is, it’s that blob of fat that hangs over the band of your pants. Yuck, I know, but we’ve all been there and some of us may still be there. But not for long. I’ve got some great tips to help you get rid of that unsightly hangover.
Here's a few to get you started:
Tip #1 – buy bigger pants! One of the main reasons you get a muffin top is because your pants are too tight. Don’t worry about the size, just buy the size that fits you properly. Trying to squeeze a size 12 rear into size 10 pants does not help you. It’s just a number, stop stressing over it. Trust me, buy great clothes in your correct size and you will look hot.
Tip #2 – wear “mom” jeans. Pants that sit at the waist or above will definitely get rid of your muffin top. It will also get rid of your friends, your man and any sense of fashion that you have. Your kids will probably die of embarrassment, too. A better choice is to refer to tip #1. Please!
Tip #3 – get in some cardio exercise. Aerobic activity burns fat everywhere – you cannot "spot" reduce. Even if the infomercial gadget says you can, don’t believe it because it’s not true. It will only make you leaner in your purse. You don't have to do anything crazy (at least, not yet!). Take a walk, do yoga, jump rope, pop in a video. Anything that gets you moving, gets your heart rate up and makes you break a sweat. I know, we loathe sweating, but it helps rid your body of toxins, which is great for your skin and your overall health.
Tip #4 – start your day with a simple lemon detox. The detox drink will help you burn fat by getting the funk out of your body. Your body will run cleaner and more efficiently. Every morning, squeeze half of a lemon into 8 ounces of warm water and suck it down. If you can use filtered water and an organic lemon, even better. If lemon isn't your thing, you can do 6 ounces of water (room temp) with 1 ounce of unsweetened cranberry juice and 2 ounces of orange juice.
Tip #5 – Put down the soda. All of it, even diet. Soda bloats you, is nothing but empty calories, and I won’t even go into how bad diet soda is for your body. Drink water – it’s calorie free, healthy and keeps you flushed out. It’s good, do it. Enough said.
Tip #6 - dry brushing. Dry brushing is a centuries old technique which detoxes the skin, helps break up fat cells (even cellulite), and removes dead skin (gross, but very necessary). Instead of me trying to summarize the benefits and techniques of dry brushing, it's easier to click the link below. http://www.naturalhealthtechniques.com/HealingTechniques/Dry_Brushing_Technique.htm
Tip #7 - drink green tea. Better yet, drink organic Wu-Yi tea. This tea is known to contain some of the highest levels of polyphenols and antioxidants which are the key ingredients that promote healthy weight loss. In fact, Wu-Yi Tea has been used since ancient time by people in this region and also in the Far East to fight obesity and bring health benefits to the tea drinker. This is what I buy and drink: http://www.wu-yi.com/216.html
